SUMMER 2024:
We ask members to follow best practices on preventing COVID-19 and monitoring for symptoms. Symptoms include fever, cough, shortness of breath, new loss of taste or smell, chills, muscle pain and sore throat. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, please do not come to the pool.
Operating Hours
- Please refer to the home page for pool hours.
Recreational Swim
- There are no restrictions to how many times a member can come to the pool.
- We require ALL members to check in upon arrival. You must identify yourself to the guard on duty so you can be verified in the database.
- Adult swim during recreational swim will occur during the last 15 minutes of every hour. Children younger than 16 years of age must completely vacate the pool.
- Children under 12 must be accompanied by a responsible caregiver aged 15 or older.
- Members 12 years old and older may be at the pool unaccompanied.
- All swimmers must pass a swimming test before using the diving board. Be prepared to retake the test if asked to do so by a guard.
- Expect a passing thunderstorm and plan for its possibility. Parents, please discuss contingency plans with your children if the pool is closed when they are there unaccompanied. Remember, parents are responsible for the safety of their children and guards are not responsible for your child when the pool is closed. Please pick your child up promptly in the event of a closure.
- The diving board will be open but may be closed for games in the well, at lifeguards' discretion.
- Please walk, do not run, on the pool deck.
- Independent swim lessons may not take place in the lap lanes, unless they are empty. Lap lane swimmers have priority over swim lessons.
Lap Swim
- Lap swimming is allowed during recreational swim. Please note the total number of lanes at any given time is dependent on the total number of rec swimmers in the pool. Please refer to the “Lap Lane Policy” under “Daleview Operating Rules” on our website for more information.
- Please observe polite lap swim etiquette:
- Please limit your time lap swimming to NO MORE than 30 minutes.
- Swimmers are encouraged to join lanes with other swimmers who swim at a similar speed, if at all possible.
- The lane closest to the wall will be designated for slower swimmers. When two or more lanes are in the pool, those should be used by faster swimmers.
Swim Team
The Feet will swim in Division H. See the Swim Team tab for detailed information about the team, including registration.

Pool Temperatures
Research indicates that the optimal range for pool temperatures is between 78°F and 82°F (26°C and 28°C) to keep the majority of swimmers comfortable. These temperatures are low enough to prevent bacteria from growing, but also warm enough to take the chill off." We work to meet that range—and the guards will post the pool temperature daily.
It is important to note that it is easier to warm a pool up than to cool overheated water. Early in the season, the heaters are often used as overnight temperatures are significantly lower than daytime temperatures. As summer progresses, there is less of a difference between warm daytime and overnight temperatures, and heater use is unnecessary. A perception of lower water temperature is unavoidable when there’s no sun. And, we can’t heat the pool to compensate.
